From Surra to Hawally
KNES opened in 1991 in Surra. The school moved to larger premises in central Hawally in 1995, marking a new chapter in its development. The Hawally premises were officially opened by British Ambassador Sir William H. Fullerton on 10 June 1995.
Education and international understanding
The school is a private, co-educational, non-profit organisation offering a British curriculum from Charlotte Pre-School through university-entry qualifications. It became an approved UK examination centre in 1996.
The Al Farabi theatre honours the Arab scientist and philosopher. The school’s history also records UNESCO engagement and activities connected with human rights, tolerance and international understanding.
