Vegan Lifestyle Guide: Eating Plant-Based in Kuwait
Going plant-based in Kuwait is easy if you know where to shop. Here is the vegan starter set: pantry, snacks, proteins and supplementation.

Veganism has grown rapidly in Kuwait thanks to a young, internationally connected population and a wide range of imported plant-based products. Most of the work is education, not supply.
The essentials
- Tofu, tempeh, seitan
- Lentils: red, green, beluga
- Chickpeas, black beans, butter beans
- Quinoa, brown rice, oats
- Nutritional yeast for cheese-like flavour
- Tahini and hummus
- Dark leafy greens
Nutrients to watch
Plant-based eaters should plan around B12, omega-3 (algae-based EPA/DHA), vitamin D, iron, zinc and iodine. A daily B-complex, an algae omega-3, and iodised sea salt at the end of cooking covers most gaps.
